Technology

Conn is dedicated to providing a digital learning environment for all students. Teachers and media staff provide students with 21st century learning opportunities to support creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Using a variety of technology tools, students develop higher-order thinking skills and the ability to use technology effectively and efficiently. These skills, as defined by The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), are essential for students to succeed in an ever-changing digital world.

Communication CFN

Communication

Conn students learn to read fluently, write proficiently, speak effectively, and listen with respect.  Kindergarten students through fifth graders attend Spanish classes to study the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Second through fifth graders have the opportunity to focus on Spanish during a six week Focus Area. Instruction is conversational and limited English is spoken. Conn fifth graders enjoy broadcasting important news and current events on CFN, Conn's First News, while our fourth graders produce 95.5 The STAR, our school radio program.

Community Interaction

Students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade connect to the surrounding community by participating in arts-infused projects as well as interacting with community members through project-based learning modules. Students collaborate with organizations, businesses, and individuals to supplement study and research of information. "Expert" speakers come to Conn and Conn students go on excursions to dozens of places in the community.
